Recently, the daily gas production per horizontal coalbed methane well constructed by CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute for Anhui Shenyuan Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. reached 10,181 m³, breaking the 10,000-cubic-meter mark once again!
Following the Luling Phase IV project, which set Anhui Province's record daily gas production of 11,129 m³ per coalbed methane well in 2025, this marks the third 10,000-cubic-meter-level CBM well developed by CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute in the Huainan-Huaibei mining area, providing a replicable and scalable model for the efficient utilization of clean energy.
The Huainan-Huaibei mining area is an important coal base in China, where coal seams are universally characterized by fragmentation, softness, and low permeability. Traditional underground gas drainage techniques suffer from low efficiency and significant safety risks. To address this bottleneck, CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute has developed a surface-staged fracturing horizontal-well gas drainage technology that provides a technical solution for rapid regional gas pre-drainage, outburst reduction, and elimination in coal mine.
As a pioneer and leader in the development of soft and fragmented coal seams in China, CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute has pioneered a "six-in-one" technical model for regional gas control and outburst prevention using surface horizontal wells, integrating drilling, fracturing, production and drainage, productivity prediction, effect evaluation, and regional verification. It has built an intellectual property system encompassing invention patents, national industrial standards, and software copyrights, providing solid technical support for optimizing China's energy structure, achieving the "Dual Carbon" goals, and the sustainable development of coal enterprises.
