As the water level of the drainage well continued to drop to -348.6m, the water level of the observation hole remained immobile, the dangling hearts of the personnel at the scene were finally released, the Gushan mine was successfully drained The grouting and water blocking project won the first battle. After more than 80 days of hard work and overcoming difficulties, we finally ushered in this moment of victory, marking that Xi'an Research Institute has made more achievements in the field of non-coal mine water hazard prevention!
At 13:44 on Dec. 22, 2019, water inrush occurred in the roadway of Gushan Iron Mine, Gushan Mining Co., Ltd. -300m horizontal distance to 273.5m of filling well center point. The instantaneous water inrush was 6340m3/h, exceeding the maximum drainage capacity of the mine, and the underground roadways and equipment were flooded which is a rare water inrush inundation accident in the history of Maanshan Iron and Steel Group.
After receiving the invitation from Ma Gang Group for technical support, Xi'an Research Institute attached great importance and responded quickly. Zheng Shitian, an expert in water prevention and control of Xi'an Research Institute, and Shi Zhiyuan, vice director of Hydrology Institute, rushed to the site immediately to consult data, analyze conditions, make plans, organize personnel and equip equipment.
Gushan Iron Ore Grouting and Water Blocking Project is the first cooperation between Xi'an Research Institute and Baowu Iron and Steel Group of China.
