In-Seam Seismic Advance Exploration

Publish Time: 2024-01-19     Origin: Site

In-seam seismic exploration is a kind of geophysical method to detect the discontinuity of coal seam by using guided waves that are excited and propagated in coal seam. In-seam wave advance detection is a special reflection method for geological anomalies that may exist in front of the face of the face in roadway excavation. Gun points and detection points are arranged on the side wall and face of the single-headed roadway to predict and forecast the geological abnormal bodies within a certain distance in front of the roadway. The advanced detection distance is greater than 150m, which can provide guidance for the safe tunneling of the roadway. The in-seam wave advance detection was carried out on both sides of the driving roadway and head of a mine by laying excitation and deep-hole geophone. Five hidden faults were explained in front and side front. The fault locations revealed in late excavation and mining area were in good agreement with the results of in-seam seismic advance exploration, and the exploration effect was remarkable.

CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute (Group) Co., Ltd. was founded in 1956, with the mission of leading the progress of coal technology and supporting safe and efficient mining.
