Recently, the mine-used solid-liquid separator independently developed by CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute successfully completed on-site industrial tests at Wuhushan Coal Mine of Wuhai Energy. Data show that this equipment's processing capacity reaches 30 m³/h, the clear water recovery rate exceeds 80%, and the turbidity of the produced water is only 0.5 NTU. It has successfully purified the slag-carrying wastewater returned from the directional drilling orifice into recyclable clear water, significantly reducing water consumption costs during the drilling construction process. This technology provides an innovative and practical solution to problems such as high water consumption and difficult wastewater treatment in underground coal mine directional drilling.

For a long time, in underground coal mine directional drilling construction, clean water has mostly been used as the flushing fluid, and water supply has been carried out in an open-loop circulation mode. The water from the borehole is discharged directly as waste. This method not only imposes double pressure from large-flow water supply and wastewater discharge but also causes significant waste of water resources. Some coal mines have tried using vibrating screens to purify drilling wastewater, but this method can only remove large drill cuttings. The remaining fine-grained impurities in the water can easily damage core equipment such as down-hole screw motors and measurement-while-drilling probe tubes, leading to measurement failures, drill tool failures, and other malfunctions, and thus it is difficult to meet the needs of directional drilling.

To address this industry pain point, CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute innovatively proposed a two-stage short-process purification process of "coarse screening + fine filtering" and, based on this, developed the KFM-30/59YL mine-used solid-liquid separator. This equipment integrates core components, including the crawler vehicle body, vibrating screen module, ceramic ultrafiltration module, and intelligent control system. After centrally collecting the slag-water at the borehole orifice, it first uses the vibrating screen module to efficiently separate large-sized drill slag, and then utilizes the special sieving and interception characteristics of the ceramic ultrafiltration module to deeply remove fine-grained impurities in the water, ultimately enabling the recycling of the directional drilling flushing fluid.

This equipment can reduce the water consumption in drilling and construction by more than 80%. It provides important support for coal mining enterprises to reduce the labor intensity of auxiliary operations, lower water consumption costs, and practice green mining, thereby facilitating the green and intelligent transformation of coal mine directional drilling.
