On May 18, the "National Science and Technology Week" science popularization activity was held at CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute. A total of 40 primary school students and parents participated in the event. Wang Hao, deputy general manager of CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute, attended the event and delivered a speech.
With the theme of "Exploring Coal Technology and Igniting Scientific Dreams", this popular science activity was carried out through a combination of field visits, popular science videos and popular science lectures. The children learned about the principles of geothermal development, experienced virtual scenes in coal mines, and experienced the magic of "geological transparency" empowered by technology; the children learned about the production process of drilling machines and tools, and experienced the "unmanned production line" empowered by technology. The children touched the ancient fossils displayed in the science museum, learned about some scientific and technological achievements, and realized the importance of science and technology in promoting the progress of human society.
In the science popularization lecture session, associate researcher Cong Lin gave a science report on "Magical Coal", systematically telling the children about the formation of coal, the functions of coal, coal mining, coal and the environment, etc. The activity also gave away the popular science book "Magical Coal".
Wang Hao shared his thoughts and experiences based on the three keywords of "coal, technology, and dreams" in the theme of the event, and encouraged the children to ignite their scientific dreams and work hard to realize them.
