On February 22, with the TBM (tunnel hard rock boring machine) cutter-head breaking out of the rock, a super long water conveyance tunnel under Qinling mountain of the Han Wei River Diversion Project was completed.
Qinling water conveyance tunnel is the key-control item of the Han Wei River Diversion Project, and it is also the first attempt of human beings to cross Qinling Mountaoin from the bottom. The total length of the tunnel is 98.3 kilometers, the maximum buried depth is 2012 meters, and the maximum rock hardness reaches 316 MPa. The comprehensive superposition of similar geological disasters occurs, which is known as "the difficulty of comprehensive construction is extremely rare in the world".
Limited by geological and topographical conditions, the Qinling water conveyance tunnel is jointly constructed by drilling and blasting method and TBM. ZDY1900S series split full hydraulic tunnel drilling rigs, produced by CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute of are equipped with TBM. During the construction process, the drill machine jointly constructed and provided drilling and technical support for various purposes such as advance exploration drilling, grouting drilling and pressure relief drilling. ZDY1900S drilling rig has stable and reliable performance, and the width of the whole machine is only 0.95m, which enables the drilling rig to cooperate with TBM for multi-purpose drilling construction under the severe geological and topographic conditions of Qinling tunnel, so as to help the tunnel to achieve successful connection.

Due to the successful implementation of the project, 1 billion cubic meters of water will be distributed in 2025, and 1.5 billion cubic meters in 2030. It will meet the water demand of Xi'an, Xianyang and other cities, bring benefit to more than 14 million people.
