A few days ago, good news came from Holsinghe Coal Mine in Changzhi City, Shanxi Province. The LK 7 LZ89-4×720 D=1.25° downhole motor developed by CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute (Group) Co., Ltd. has successively completed the roof directional drilling construction of 14 coal seam roofs at 3# and 4# drill sites along 3801 headentry, with a total drilling footage of 6,372m, setting a new record for the lifetime of a single downhole motor in the mine.
Downhole motor is an indispensable special drilling tool for directional drilling construction and also an important part of the drilling tool industry chain. Relying on the GS task in 2022, CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute has developed a high-performance Φ89 downhole motor. Through innovative stator molding process and modular design, the overall static torsion capacity of the stator outer tube of the new downhole motor reaches 36,000 N•m, the tensile capacity exceeds 170T, the rated torque reaches 1,450 Nm, and the speed is 144 rpm. The comprehensive performance of the motor assembly is significantly improved. In addition, the downhole motor disassembly and assembly bench and detection bench are developed to realize rapid disassembly, debugging and detection of downhole motors, providing technical support for mass production promotion and maintenance.
The successful application of the new Φ89 downhole motor is a practical achievement of Xi'an Research Institute that insists on strengthening, supplementing and extending the drilling tool industry chain. In the future, Xi'an Research Institute will continue to consolidate the drilling tool industry chain as always, be the "chain leader", and better play a leading role in the construction of the drilling tool industry system.
