Kazakhstan delegation of 7 people consisting of Shakhno Stepan, Energy Director of ArcelorMittal, and Beisembetov Iskander, President of Satbayev Kazakh National Technical University, accompanied by Ji Yangrui, General Manager of CCTEG International Engineering Company, visited Xi’an Research Instituteon the development and utilization of CBM from August 6th to 11th. During the visit, Dong Shuning, Chairman of Xi’an Research Institute, Ye Genfei, General Manager of Xi’an Research Institute, Zhang Qun and Hu Weiyue, Vice-General Manager of Xi’an Research Institute, and Directors of related departments held talks and signed strategic cooperation agreement with the delegation.
At the meeting, Dong Shuning welcomed the delegation and gave a brief introduction of basic situation of Xi’an Research Institute. Representative of ArcelorMittal and President of Satbayev University delivered speeches separately. Ji Yangrui introduced coal mining machine production of CCTEG, and watched its propaganda film. The both sides exchanged deeply on key technologies of CBM status and development, and comprehensive utilization after purification. The delegation also visited workshop of drill equipment production, geophysical instrument hall and exhibition hall of Xi’an Research Institute.
Furthermore, accompanied by the Department of International business and related Directors of Coalbed Methane Institute of Xi’an Research Institute, the delegation went to Jin Cheng City Shanxi Province and inspected CBM extraction, purification and liquefaction plant.
Based on rules of complementary advantages and win-win cooperation, Dong Shuning and Beisembetov Iskander signed the strategic cooperation agreement after the inspection. The two parties stated that they will work together to develop their advantages and jointly advance the technological progress of coal mining and CBM extraction and utilization industries.
Kazakhstan Coalbed Methane Company, established by Satbayev Kazakh National Technical University and ArcelorMittal to develop CBM resources in Karaganda region of Kazakhstan, is currently a model of cooperation between the world’s leading industrial company and the largest national technical university since Kazakhstan’s independence.
