Recently, the 4th "China International Science Exchange Foundation Outstanding Engineer Award" was grandly announced. Dong Shuning of CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute won the "Outstanding Engineer Award".
Dong Shuning is an expert with outstanding contributions in Shaanxi Province, and an “expert with outstanding contributions” from the Coal Industry Technical Committee, who won the “Sun Yueqi Energy Award”.
He is a well-known expert in the field of mine water disaster prevention and control in China. For many years, he has been committed to the theoretical research, technical development and engineering practice of mine water disaster prevention and control. He has innovated the theory of coal seam floor water disaster prevention and control, and solved the worldwide problem of advanced prevention and rapid treatment of water disasters. He has successively won 2 National Science and Technology Progress Awards, 27 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards. Mr. Dong published 13 special (edited) books, 63 technical papers, and obtained 5 authorized invention patents; responsible ( Or participate in) revisions to national and industry regulations such as the Coal Mine Safety Regulations, the Coal Mine Water Control Regulations, and the Coal Mine Water Control Regulations.
His research results have been widely promoted and applied in dozens of mines in 14 mining areas across the country, eradicating more than 80% of the country's heavy (extra) large water inrush disasters, and liberating more than 300 million tons of coal resources threatened by water damage. He presided over the establishment of the national "Coal Mine Flood Accident Analysis and Appraisal Laboratory" and the "Key Laboratory of Coal Mine Water Hazard Prevention and Control Technology in Shaanxi Province". He is currently in charge of the "Thirteenth Five-Year" national key research and development plan "Rapid identification of mine water inrush and flood prevention and control". As a chief scientist of "Key Technology Research", he has made a significant contribution to the advancement of China's coal mine flood prevention and control technology.
A total of 34 industry associations, 80 academicians, 24 past winners of the Outstanding Engineer Award and other recommended units (persons) participated in the selection of this year's Outstanding Engineer Award, and nearly 1,000 engineering and technical personnel submitted applications. After screening by each recommended unit, 63 review experts (including 20 academicians) were selected, and the Outstanding Engineer Award Award Committee reviewed and finally selected 70 winners, including 40 "Outstanding Engineer Award" winners and 30 Winner of "Outstanding Young Engineer Award".
