Recently, the outburst prevention on-site meeting of China Coal Xinji Energy Co., Ltd. in the third quarter was successfully held at Zidong Mine, Xinjikou, Zhongmei. At the meeting, the bedding pneumatic directional drilling construction project undertaken by our institute was highlighted and promoted, and in-depth technical exchanges were carried out with the representatives present, which were recognized and highly praised by relevant leaders of Zhongmei Xinji Company.
The stratum of 5# coal seam in Zidong Coal Mine, Xinjikou, Zhongmei is broken. It is difficult to drill holes for gas extraction. The drilling depth along the bedding during conventional rotary drilling construction is less than 100m, and the pore-forming rate is low, which cannot meet the gas control requirements of the working face. Therefore, Zidong Mine in Xinjikou of Zhongmei carried out pneumatic directional drilling test on crushed soft coal seam with our institute, aiming to explore the feasibility of construction of bedding directional hole for gas control by pneumatic directional drilling technology. Since the commencement of the project, 12 holes have been constructed, with an effective footage of 2666m and a maximum hole depth of 420 m.
Through the project implementation and this on-site meeting, the technical level and strength of our institute in the drilling field have been fully demonstrated, marking a major breakthrough in market development in this region. At the same time, it provides new ideas and approaches for the Group to further explore gas control.
