The "Key Technologies and Equipment for CBM Extraction and Utilization in Coal Mining Areas" is one of the major national science and technology projects under the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan", "Large Oil and Gas Fields and CBM Development Project". CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute undertook topic 2 "Surface CBM Drainage Technology and Equipment for Broken Soft and Low Permeability Coal Seams"and Topic 3 "Technology and equipment for efficient extraction of coalbed methane underground in coal mines".
In Topic 2, aiming at the difficult problem of coalbed methane extraction from broken-soft and low-permeability coal seams, four key technology including geological identification & precise gas content measurement technology, non-cemented staged fracturing technology along broken-soft low-permeability coal seam roof rock formations & soft-hard composite coal seams, CBM wells stimulation via Φ60mm extremely small radius sidetracking technology, and Coal seam group layering controlled pressure drainage technology were innovative developed .
In Topic 3, in order to solve the problem of efficient hole formation of coalbed methane in underground coal mines, hard coal seam rotary geosteering intelligent drilling equipment, broken soft coal seam dual-power head dual-pipe directional drilling equipment, roof rock formations large-diameter high-location long-hole directional drilling drilling equipment and downhole pipe jacking rapid drilling equipment have been innovatively developed.
Isolation coring depth of surface wells (804.67m), the daily gas production of soft coal surface extraction (11,500 m3), the depth of directional drilling of underground soft coal (423m), the diameter of one-time reaming of the dual-powered drilling of "holes instead of roadways" (300mm) and many other records were successfully created.It has promoted the technological progress and industrial development of my country's coalbed methane exploration and development, and provided technical equipment support for further promoting the coordinated development of coal and coalbed methane in my country's coal mine areas.
