At 11:30 am on November 29, 2020, a water inrush accident occurred at the minus 500-meter level in Yuanjiangshan Coal Mine, Leiyang City, Hunan Province. After the accident, CCTEG Xi’an Research Institute, in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Emergency Management and the National Mine Safety Supervision Bureau, provides full technology and equipment guarantee for emergency rescue work. Yuanjiangshan coal mine has complex underground mining conditions. Weak infrastructure and technical capabilities are the biggest difficulties faced by rescue work. On the day of the accident, the expert team of CCTEG Xi’an Research Institute sorted out the distribution of the goaf and roadway system in the accident area overnight and drew complete maps to provide first-hand information for the rescue work. A rescue plan of "water inrush from one mine, drainage from four adjacent mines" was proposed. In the follow up rescue, the cause of the water penetration accident and the location of the person may be trapped were analyzed, which provides a scientific basis for the construction of the rescue well for life information exploration, and adjusts the rescue plan based on the real-time situation to provide a decision-making basis for the on-site rescue command. The National Mine Safety Supervision Bureau, the Leiyang Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government sent an appreciation letter to express their gratitude to CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute for its hard work in rescue work.
