Recently, through advanced technical means and collaboration with a professional team, CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute successfully assisted Shenmu City, Shaanxi Province, in identifying the causes of unknown vibrations and surface cracks in Liushipan Village, Sunjiacha Town. It has provided key technical support to the local government in safeguarding people's livelihoods and safety, and was commended by the Shenmu Comprehensive Resource Service Center.

In 2023, residents of Liushipan Village, Sunjiacha Town, Shenmu City, have repeatedly reported issues, including house vibrations and wall cracks, which have aroused widespread public concern. The Shenmu Municipal Government attached great importance to this, joined hands with public security, natural resources, and other departments to establish a special working group, and entrusted CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute with conducting a technical investigation. As the unknown vibration source is deeply concealed and challenging to locate, CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute quickly dispatched a technical team to rush to the frontline and conduct an investigation.
The technical team at CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute overcame harsh conditions in northern Shaanxi, including severe winter cold and heavy spring sandstorms. They adopted a three-dimensional exploration model of "air-ground-hole-well". They applied cutting-edge technologies, including satellite image analysis, the ground transient electromagnetic method, a microseismic monitoring network, and downhole laser 3D imaging, to define the scope of underground goafs accurately. Through cross-validation, the team found that the collapse of the goaf roof transmitted stress to the ground surface, directly causing house cracks and underground vibrations. The monitoring data highly matches the abnormal times reported by residents.
The investigation results of CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute have provided a scientific basis for the Shenmu Municipal Government's subsequent law enforcement and disaster management. The Shenmu Comprehensive Resource Service Center highly praised the team's professional spirit, stating that the team "has solved the technical problem of difficult, accurate positioning of unknown vibration sources and provided a promotable solution for safety prevention and control in mining areas across the country."
