1. Introduction

Hongyan River Reservoir in Binxian County is a third-class medium-sized water control project with urban life and industrial water supply and sand retaining works as its primary tasks. Affected by coal mining in coal mines around, surface deformation and cracks are found in many places in the reservoir area, with the maximum crack width of about 15 ~ 30cm. After investigation, it is found out that working face 8712 in Huoshiju Coal Mine is within the reservoir area, working face 8714 is close to the reservoir area, and some of the goafs are located in the forbidden mining area. The collapse of goafs has caused surface deformation and cracks in the reservoir area. According to the examination results provided by the expert team, the goafs of working faces 8712 and 8714 in Huoshiju Coal Mine have serious impact on the water storage of Hongyan River Reservoir and the work safety of mining works in the coal mine.

2. Treatment solution

In order to meet the anti-seepage requirements for the reservoir area, the treatment scheme of combining deep goaf treatment with shallow surface anti-seepage was adopted in the goaf treatment. Filling the goaf to prevent the subsequent deformation of the goaf and combining the shallow surface seepage control to prevent the leakage in the reservoir area can fundamentally solve the problem of the leakage in the reservoir.

3. Construction situation

In this project, the total drilling footage was 30976m, the volume of goaf backfilling grouting volume was 94472m3, the surface was cleared and leveled in 47606m2, the clay blanket was layered and compacted in 47606m3, the sand cushion was laid in 4620m3, the geomembrane impervious material was laid in 49180m2, 451m3 of C20 concrete were poured, and the clay of protective layer on the membrane was laid in 18949m3.

4. Achieved accomplishment

The results of the project monitoring and goaf water quantity monitoring show that this project effectively guarantees the normal operation of reservoir and the work safety in the coal mine. There is no mature technical case at home and abroad for the goaf treatment project in the reservoir area. This project is a typical case of technical innovation of experts in goaf treatment of us, which plays a good engineering demonstration role for similar projects.

5. FAQ

Q: How to ensure the quality of grouting slurry in goaf under the influence of underground aquifer water?

A: The underground aquifer water is mainly isolated, and the grouting pipe and aquifuge are used to seal the aquifer, so as to prevent the influence of aquifer water on grouting slurry. Grouting pipe is not only for grouting, but also for eliminating the influence of aquifer.

Q: What standards are used to control the quality of this project?

A: At present, there are no technical standards and specifications (procedures) related to the treatment of goafs under the reservoir area at home and abroad, so this project is to restrict the construction and control the quality by combining the relevant standards for water curtain grouting with those for geological disaster prevention. For the acceptance procedure, relevant standards for water conservancy acceptance are adopted this time.
