At the invitation of the Xinjiang Bureau of the National Mine Safety Administration (hereinafter referred to as the Xinjiang Bureau), Researcher Cao Haidong from CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute delivered a specialized training session on coal mine water prevention and control for the Xinjiang Bureau. The training was chaired by Deputy Director Huang Jiachang of the Xinjiang Bureau.

Cao Haidong systematically summarized the main types of water hazards faced by coal mines in Xinjiang. Focusing on key issues such as sandstone water drainage in coal seam roofs, goaf management and abandoned mine water prevention, burned rock water exploration and treatment, and the formation mechanism and prevention of bed-separation water, he provided an in-depth yet accessible explanation of relevant water hazard prevention technologies and practical experience, incorporating real-world Xinjiang coal mine construction and production scenarios as well as typical mine water control case studies.
Additionally, he conducted a detailed analysis and discussion on easily overlooked risk points in processes such as hydrogeological supplementary exploration, abandoned mine water detection and drainage, water-conducting fracture zone height testing, and tunnel excavation through faults, targeting both technical personnel from coal enterprises and inspectors from the Xinjiang Bureau. This further enhanced attendees' awareness of water hazard identification and prevention. The training session fostered an engaged atmosphere, with participants actively discussing the content and sharing challenges encountered in practice.
This training not only systematically presented CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute's advanced technological achievements and typical case studies in mine water hazard prevention and control but also strengthened collaboration between the Institute and the Xinjiang Bureau. Moreover, it boosted the influence and recognition of the "Xi'an Water Prevention and Control" brand among government inspectors and law enforcement personnel.
