1. Introduction
Shanxi Huajin Hanzui Coal Industry Co., Ltd. is formed by the integration of multiple old mines. Coal spontaneous combustion and serious CO concentration accidents have occurred in the goaf for many times, forcing the mine to stop production for rescue. This situation seriously affected mining safety. In order to ascertain the situation and temperature of the abnormal area of the fire source, directional drilling project for fire prevention was undertaken by CCTEG Xi’an Research.
2. Mine water hazard treatment solution
In this exploration area, the geological data was basically blank. the inclination angle of the coal seam and several old lanes are only inferred. Directional drilling borehole position is determined as the central substation. The elevation of #2 coal seam roof is 667 m, the borehole started at elevation of 665.2m. Borehole trajectory descends firstly and then rises in a concave shape. Two directional drilling holes are designed successively, namely A- 1 and A-3.
3. Construction situation
Two directional drillings were completed in the project construction. Firstly, the abnormal area was detected by the A-1 directional drilling borehole, and then the A-3 borehole was used to construct the temperature measurement directional drilling. Finally, the ordinary drill pipe was used for transportation (in annulus). Cable temperature measurement wires and sensors are used to complete the temperature measurement in the abnormal area of the fire source.
4. Achieved accomplishment
After the completion of the directional drilling construction, the temperature information of the abnormal area of the fire source was accurately obtained by laying the temperature measurement wires and sensors, and then further fire prevention measures were taken. Total 51581m³ yellow mud was poured. After the treatment, outlet water temperature gradually drops from 110℃ to 18℃. The average concentration of CO measured on closed walls, roadways and boreholes was 60 ppm, which dropped to the normal value simultaneously. Abnormal fire source detection and temperature measurement using directional drilling technology provides support for targeted fire prevention and control, which ensures the safe mining of hidden disaster mines.
