A case of goaf exploration in a mine in Northern Shaanxi

1. Introduction

There are many small coal mines around the mine. There are four goafs at the boundary of the mine. The unknown goafs, especially the seeper goafs, bring hidden dangers to the design and safe production of the main roadway of Guojiawan coal mine.

2. Treatment solution

In this exploration, transient electromagnetic method and geological drilling were used to detect the scope of goafs and water accumulation in the exploration area. The detection method is mainly transient electromagnetic method, supplemented by high-density resistivity method and mine electromagnetic method to detect the coal seam 4-2 and coal seam 5-1 in the exploration area, analyze the distribution characteristics of resistivity near the two coal seams, summarize the characteristics of electrical anomalies, and explain the abnormalities in the goafs, Through drilling verification, the coal seam, spatial distribution pattern, water accumulation and scope were comprehensively explained, providing reference for the safe mining of the mine

In this exploration project, , 1.746 km2 was explored by 4872 TEM coordinate points, 9 km long high-density resistivity survey lines; 440m long TEM lines and 40m long high-density DC lines were completed; 12 verification boreholes were drilled with a total footage of 2126.6m.

In this exploration, 3 low resistance and 3 high resistance abnormal areas were found in coal seam 4-2 and nearby strata. In coal seam 5-1 and its adjacent strata, 2 weak and low resistance abnormal areas, 3 strong and low resistance abnormal areas and 2 high resistance abnormal areas were found.

During the execution of the project, there were 12 verification boreholes, 6 were in agreement with the electrical method, and 6 h were in coal pillar, among which 4 were in agreement with the electrical method, indicating that the data of the electrical method exploration is reliable and the effect is good.

A: The best way to explore the goaf, especially the water-accumulating goaf, is the combination of geophysical exploration and drilling comprehensive exploration, in which the transient electromagnetic method is one of the most mature methods
